by Protestant definition of course. If you are a Catholic… that’s a different story.

Lets all remember that Christmas is not a Holy Day… or a day that eclipses the religious importance of the 52 Sabbath Days a year (which are ordained by God himself). Let us remember that it is just a celebration… like one celebrates their birthday or Reformation Day. It is LESS important than the HOLY DAYS of the God breathed Scriptures.

So, lets us remember Christ and have our traditions, but I beseech you all to put Christmas in its rightful place (and remember to keep the Sabbath Day holy -The 4th Commandment).

For all of you foul Hethens who drink cheap beer… this post is not for you. Because when you choose to take the time to pour your beer properly, odds are you are concerned with the taste as well.

First, depending on what style of beer it is, will determine how the proper pour is done.

Pouring an ale

Gentle, steady pour down the side of the tilted glass will stop the beer from foaming excessively.

Steepen the angle and pour more directly to avoid the beer being too flat. Aim for one “finger” of foam.

Too much creaminess will rob the beer of its appetizingly bitter character. The hop oils will migrate from the beer itself and hide in the head.

Pouring a stout

Pour stout slowly, to allow the head to develop. If it grows too quickly, stop for moment.

A two-staged pour will make for a denser, creamier, more solid head, which will suit the coffeeish flavors of the stout.

A bottled stout will have a rockier, less rich head and a more natural flavor than the “draft” versions containing a “widget” (nitrogen capsule).

Pouring a Pilsner

Bottles may take less than seven minutes prescribed for a draft, but a real pilsner must have a blossoming head.

A soft, sustained carbonation further enlivens the golden color with a consistent rise of small bubbles (known as the “bead”).

The head should rise, almost like a soft ice cream, above the rim of the glass. This brings forward the hop aroma and holds back bitterness to the finish.

Pouring a Wheat Beer

Beers containing yeast have high carbonation, so an especially gentle pour is required. The Belgians wet the glass to control the head.

In Bavaria, wheat beer is typically served with a huge head, especially if it is a bottle-conditioned example. Some yeast is included in the pour.

If the beer is deemed insufficiently cloudy, the last few drops may be rolled in the bottle to loosen the remaining yeast sediment. This is then added to the glass.

9. Thought that the other side was for the ‘Israel’, and this side was for the ‘church’.

8. Charles Ryrie was still on this side of the road, why cross?

7. Thought it was pointless since Jesus was just going to bring him back after 7 years.

6. Like the OT prophets and the church age, he was unable to see the other side.

5. He was afraid that if he went, there would be nothing to restrain the man of lawlessness.

4. He was not a part of the dispensation of ‘crossing’.

3. Dallas Theological Seminary hadn’t yet published anything telling him how to do it.

2. Thought there was a two thousand foot gap between the 69th and 70th step.

1. By taking a consistently literal approach, he thought that ‘cross the road’ meant something about the crucifixion.

Constitution Party Presidential Candidate Chuck Baldwin’s quote on the Christian Voter:

“Unfortunately, it has been the Christian Right’s blind support for President Bush in particular and the Republican Party in general that has precipitated a glaring and perhaps fatal defect: the Christian Right cannot, or will not, honestly face the real danger confronting these United States. The reason for this blindness is due, in part, to political partisanship or personal aggrandizement. Regardless, the Christian Right is currently devoid of genuine sagacity. On the whole, they fail to understand the issues that are critical to our nation’s–and their own–survival” Chuck Baldwin

Bullseye, Chuck. I was guilty in 2000 and 2004 of the same ignorance. When we don’t vote our values and instead vote for the ‘lesser of two evils,” we will always be stuck with an ‘evil.’ This year I am telling the globalist neocon McCain that I “will not” vote for him out of obligation to a party that has left it’s planks. Conservatism is dead in the GOP.
